Leaf Signature Collection
The Leaf Signature Collection is the piece of work that built the Belgin Francis house. It began in the atelier’s first year, 2001, when Belgin Francis sketched a botanical motif intended for a single jacket — and the response from the New York buyers who saw it changed the trajectory of the brand. Twenty-five years later, the Leaf is the through-line that connects every season, every silhouette, and every collection the house has ever produced.
The motif is deceptively simple: a botanical pattern, drawn by hand, then either laser-cut or hand-cut into Turkish lambskin so the negative space carries the design. On a jacket, the leaf frames the body. On a vest, it elongates the torso. On a poncho, it catches air with every step. On a tunic, it traces a quiet line down the front. The pattern is the same; the way the leather wears it never is.
The laser-cut pieces in this collection are precise to within fractions of a millimeter — the artisans calibrate the laser for each leather batch because lambskin thickness varies enough to ruin a cut. The hand-cut pieces are the inverse: slight, intentional irregularities, the human signature you cannot replicate in a machine. Owning one of each is the way most collectors of the Leaf Series build their wardrobe.
Every piece in the Leaf Signature Collection is handcrafted in Turkey and curated in our New York atelier. This is the collection Belgin Francis built her house on.
